Hello !

Congratulations and thanks a lot for DiscoMusic that i just discovered.

Maybee this question has already been answered but i did a search and could not find it.

I have ripped most of my vinyls recently and i would like to avoid the scanning of all the covers.

I have noticed that all the covers on Discomusic.com are waterwarkd with the url of the site.

Is there some kind of paying premium subscription on any other way to get all the covers without the watermarks ?

Speaking from experience, I can fully understand why Bernie watermarks all the images. It's quite annoying when you spend the time to meticulously scan and reassemble an album cover, only to have some 2-bit site repost it without asking or even giving you credit.

Here's an idea... before I had a scanner and spent ages reassembling edges on photo shop I used my digital camera. Set it up some place where the light is good (e.g. Kitchen) prop the record up horizontally and face the camera so you get the full cover in view and simply snap away with the FLASH OFF. Stick it on the pc and just crop it.

Nobody has to pay anything here Laurent. You can't get the covers without the watermark. Like Graham already pointed out: the vault is the combined work of Bernie and a whole lot of members who contributed to the main site and have put a lot of work in it.

So, it's not so difficult to understand that there's a minor protection on those files!

To answer your question: nope there's not a hidden section where they can be downloaded without the Site Url.

And I understand that its a lot of hard to share work.

After the days i spent ripping my vinyls and CDs I will be fine with a few hours more for the covers :)
