Default Log In Time: Can We Increase This?

I've noticed the past couple of days, when I've written long messages after logging in, that when I go to submit the message, I have to re-log in. I'm estimating that it took me around 10 to 15 minutes to compose those long messages.

Is it possible to increase the log in time to something longer? I'm just worried that one day I'll spend a long time typing a message, find out I have to re-log in, and then the message I labored over vaporizes. I've had that happen to me on other forums.

Disco Funk, it's true. I had the same experience in the past. Now, when I type a long post, I immediately take a copy of it.

When I get the message that I'm not logged in anymore, I log in and I just paste the new post. Perhaps this can be a solution.

Bernie, I don't know, but is it possible to adjust that timeslot?

This happened to me to various times already, maybe no more that 5 minutes lapse time before login and submitting reply, once after re-login to post the message text was lost in the shuffle, I now went back to my old way of writing the message in Word and cutting and pasting, but this way is time consuming if you want to quote and/or add smilies etc. Another way is to copy (saving) your post before submitting, that way you can re-log and not worry that it will all be lost, but it would be nice not to have to worry about this..

And I still can't edit/custumise long urls

When you click on the globe icon a box pops up where you paste in the URL. Once you click OK a part of it remains highlighted in your post and it is this SECOND occurrence of the URL that you customize not the first one.

Code:
[ URL="http://www.discomusic.com/forums/"]This is your clickable link that you can customize[ /URL]

For security reasons the forum can log you out if you are inactive for a while. I can't stress this enough: before you click the submit button ALWAYS highlight the entire text of your post and copy to your clipboard. I've lost long posts in the past and by doing the above you avoid frustrations.

Bernie my "globe" feature doesn't do what you describe, (i'm using Firefox) once I hit OK all I get is the complete URL , no highlighted area at all in my text. again,:evil::cry: http://www.discomusic.com/records-more/2648_0_2_0_C/

Bernie, just in my last post by accident I just figured out how to do this :D:D

A different way to explain it/do it is to type in your desired 'condensed' text within your reply box's text, then hightlight that text portion , then go and 'copy' the URL you want to include in your post from the source, then come back here and click on the 'globe' icon in your reply box and 'paste' the copied URL in the drop down window, your previously highlighted text will now become the desired URL taking you to that location.8)

and the other way works now too :o but is far more complicated IMO.

go to the source and copy the desired URL, come here and click the 'Globe icon' and type in your desired 'condensed' text, hit ok and this text will appear in the body of your text as a URL (but it doesn't work yet!) you need to highlight this text again and open the 'Globe' icon again and then paste your saved/copied URL again, hit OK and then your condenced text will be properly configured/activated to the desired URL.:???:
