Default Test out forum features here...

With the new forum now live and a bit different than past setups I thought it might help many to set aside a thread where we can all experiment and do test posts to try our hand at the new formatting option, adding images, links...

To utilize this forum to its fullest, I strongly recommend that EVERYONE click on the User CP link near the top left of each page as you will find tons of powerful options that allow you to customize the forum, your profile, viewing...

While there, I ask that everyone add in their location and birthdays as it is neat to see where everyone is from... I understand if some of you want a little privacy, but at the very least type in your country. Don't forget to choose an image or even upload your photo to have displayed next to your name on each post!

Some of you may have noticed that the forum has a calendar function and I encourage everyone to use it to post upcoming parties, club reunions. One member is already using it to remind everyone of his weekly Disco radio show so please use this valuable feature. As long as you don't use it to remind yourself of when to take your meds I'm cool with just about whatever you want to post here.

Start testing... Marky, this means YOU :-)

Bernie,

There are a couple of questions I would like to ask:

1) Where do you go to change font size and color in our post?

&

2) How do you put a picture in the post? I keep asking this question. Why is it so secret?

Also, I tried to edit a post of mine yesterday, and I tried everything, but it would not re-post with the changes.

Thanks!

1. You go to User CP and there you click Edit Options and you follow these guidances:

http://www.discomusic.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=20

2. You just copy the link: http://...... and then you put behind it like:

You have the link: http://www.hln.be/hlns/FOTO/artikels/top_149214.jpg

And then you put like:

Piece of cake, even for Marky :-)

Yes Marky, all you need is the link where the pic is on the net and you follow my heavenly instructions :-)

BTW, those instructions regard a pic in a POST. When you talk about space, do you mean you want to change your Avatar in Sam Elliot. Then you just put the pic on your personal PC, go to User CP and click "Edit Avatar", then you choose "browse", then you browse into your personal maps, double click on the pic of Sam Elliot or anything else, and then you have to conclude by clicking "save changes" underneath.

Try it, every 1's a winner here!

Thank you Videoskooter.:-P

As for the image, I understand what you are saying, but I would have to host the photo. Correct? I went to the http..site and all that was there was the photo. So I am presuming you are hosting it.

No, the pic of Halle is deeplinked.

Of course there are sites that do not allow that. In case you want to host you go to http://tinypic.com and there you can host a pic from your personal PC, it's very simple, you browse your PC, you click on "upload image" and then you just copy and paste the link into your post. (they don't allow nude pics or controversial stuff and they do check, but they are reliable and safe ;-) )

Example: this is one my cars, I hosted it 1 minute ago so it's not hotlinked and will stay for a long period on their server.
