    Hi Neil,
    Archie Bell & The Drells had been around some time before that. They started to hit the 'big time' in 1968 when 'Tighten up' was a huge US hit. At that time they were on Atlantic. In the early 70s they moved to Philly Int.
    Some of there better known hits UK wise are;
    Tighten up, Soul City Walk, Here I go again, I can't stop dancing, There's gonna be a showdown & let's groove.

    Look Back Over was released in 1987 and all songs in Best CD
    was recorded early and I think it's different music and I know that this group still active in "beach music"scene, but Look Back
    one of latest releases...

    Archie Bell & The Drells were part of the Gamble & Huff stable in the mid 70's.Backed by MFSB with songs written by McFadden & Whitehead and Bunny Sigler they produced some great songs such as Where Will You Go When The Party's Over,Everybody Have A Good Time,I Could Dance All Night and Let's Groove.Unfortunately they had to compete with the likes of The O'Jays and Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes for their share of the spotlight. If you can get a hold of some of their LP's from that time period give them a listen as you might best appreciate some of the cuts that never made the best of compilations.

    The Archie Bell & The Drells tune that I remember the most was "Let's Go Disco" I remember hearing it at a lot of backyard parties back in 1975...Take Care...Mario 8)
