Does anybody have any of these US DJ mixes by Razormaid.
They not as well known as the more famous Hot tracks/ Disconet mixes but some are quite good. Some of them though were a bit off the wall!!
Some goodies are;
Tapps - Don't pretend to know
Danse Society - Say it again
Donna Summer - I feel love
Sandra - We'll be together
Roxy Music - Angel eyes
Propaganda - P.Machinery/Dr Mabuse
Yello - Vicious games
Divine - You think you're a man
Patrick Cowley - Megatron man
Peter Schilling - A different story

They mainly do 80s stuff. I have seen them for sale in Record Collector and seen them at record fairs as well.
There are two other remix labels i've seen around as well. they are Direct hit & Prime Cuts.
I went to a record fair in manchester last saturday (with Dave/Sandra Dee) - I found a mint condition copy of Donna Summer "I Feel Love/Theme from "THE DEEP" - Great bargain at £2.50. I also found BACCARA "Fantasy boy"/"Touch me" - 50 p !Originally Written by Davicillo
Dave also found some really cool 70s disco/funk stuff 8)
Razormaid were really good. I have a number of issues from back when they still released them on vinyl. Lots of great Alternative and Hi-NRG tracks.
They're still around and on their website you can even order custom CDs with just the Razormaid mixes you want which is great:

I know they are more appealing to 80s collecters than DJ's.
Especially the Propaganda tracks along with some of the Gothy
or alternative stuff they did. At least they make a welcome cahnge to the normal remix services.
I have a few of these. "You Think You're A Man" is not much different than the commercial 12". "Angel Eyes" was cool. However, "I Feel Love" was unbelievable......especially for it's time! The instrumentation was totally different. It was originally on Razormaid's Class-X series. Razormaid always seems to be ahead of it's time. I don't know how they do some of those mixes.............and they're always edited flawlessly, even back before computers were prevalent.
