    Almighty & Clone Records

Am I alone in hating these two labels?

The cheese that's been mass produced in the name of "hi-nrg" is, in my opinion - embarrassing!

Cover version after cover version, with the same formula and all sounding dreadful.

Show me the exit someone please.

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    Hello!

This subject was discussed not too long ago, and the general consensus was that most of the stuff on Klone was generally pants, and that Almighty occasionally released a good cover version...have to say that I agree...Klone stuff always sounds cheap to me! :-?

LOL.. When I came across Klone records I thought it was some kind of crazy, elaborate joke... I can't believe people would genuinely enjoy the "music" they release.. Some of it is just so shockingly awful and tacky.. They make Almighty sound like Mozart.. Though I must say, it's great for a laugh though

The stuff released by these labels is (overall) very shoddy - They Just take a top 10 pop hit and put some cheap sounding electro beat behind it...Bring back those golden years when talented writers/producers composed ORIGINAL material

Wow, I actually like some Klone stuff. maybe their recent releases haven't been great but I think some of the Paul Parker and Abigail singles they did in the early days are classics.

Almighty may be in a bit of a lull currently as well but I think they've done some great stuff too.

I think both labels really helped fill the void of NRG releases in the early 90s when the Rave/Techno sound took off in the clubs so I'll always be grateful to them for that.

don't know how anyone can slate almighty. They have done some truly magical tracks. Their remix of Agnetha 'If I Thought I could Ever Change Your Mind' is such a great mix. They've remixed many artists including Elton John,Westlife and Cher. Maybe their output isn't as prolific as it once was. I am really enoying new remix team Club Junkies at the moment. They have done some terrific high energy mixes over the last year. Best are probably Kylie 'I Believe In You', Gwen Stefani 'What Ya Waitin' For' and Alcazar 'Alcastar'.

As with all labels, Almighty and Klone are bound to have some "off" moments. Unless they alter their course drastically, I think Klone are passed their prime, but Almighty is still solid. Even if once in a while they release one of those "Good gravy, what were they thinking?" type of tracks...

I actually think that most of Almighty's remixes are pretty decent, it's the cover versions that are very much hit and miss generally

I'm a fan of many of Almighty's remixes too.. The Agnetha one as monty69 said was amazing, I was skeptical as to how they would turn something like that into a dance track, but they did.. Then again, I could see if you were in the UK, how one would find Almighty's stuff tired, overexposed etc..

I remember hearing about Paul Parker's stuff with Klone.. I suppose I shouldn't be so down on them, their originals may be better.. The last things I heard from Klone that really stood out were the awful Kylie covers - I Believe In You with Jacquie Cann and You're Disco Needs You with Kelly Marie and Tina Charles

Klone were in a lull in recent years but i feel that they are making a real effort of late. Their Cher remake covers album is great. Also they are releasing later this month an album containing 20 euro high energy/trance fully extended versions of recent euro hits. Also the Nicki French cover of 'I Surrender' has been a huge success for them this year.

They seem to remix the same tracks over + over again (i.e. IN THE EVENING by Sheryl Lee Ralph) and I have lost count of how many ABBA covers they have churned out !!
