I'm probably wrong, but is this Devo's "Whip It?"On 2002-07-07 19:26, nrgbeat wrote:

Since Ms.M guessed the last song so easily, here's a double song quiz.
Think new wave not disco.
Song 1) "Someone told me this was just a dance" (this is probably the easier of the two)
Song 2) "Get a message to my mother, what number would she be"

Bernie (Bernard Lopez)
Owner/publisher of DiscoMusic.com - on the web since 1996.
DiscoMusic.com on Facebook and MySpace
the 1st one is Hypnotic Tango - My mine this is actually more italo-disco to me than new wave
No, the second song is not Devo.
The first song is "Hypnotic Tango". I would've never considered that Italo Disco. Are they an Italian group?

Well my 12incher is from Italy, and this site http://www.casema.net/~waltdijk/lyrics.htm (and many others) refers Hypnotic tango to italo disco. I don't have the same perception of what new wave.
Do you think I really have a chance ?

**Dreamin\' about those disco lights**
The band is Australian. Male vocal.
Here's another line from the song.
"I figit with the digit dots and cry an anxious tear."
No guesses anyone??
It seems like the songs are either too easy or too hard.
I have NO IDEA, BUT, that won't stop me from guessing:
INXS?
Icehouse?
Pseudo Echo?
Midnight Oil?
Funky Dude? (Just kiddin')
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
No, it's none of the above. Good guesses though.
Computer Games by Mi-Sex?
Phyllis Hyman is the winner!!! Hurrah!!!
