disco quiz

Hello there disco lovers! I am brand new to disco and this forum and I am looking for help from all of you bright and knowledgeable disco fans. My supervisor is a disco junky and has given us, interns, a disco quiz that, according to him (and this is no joke), will dictate our career success. He has been doing this for years and compiled a data base (yes, I am not joking) with clear proof that interns who do the best on the quiz evidence tremendous career success and those who do not do well... well they move back in to live with their parents. I have nothing against my parents, but I would rather have my own place! ;) and impress my supervisor with my answers. Plus, since this is all in good fun, it's fine to look for help;) So I need help and here comes the open ended problem solving question:

Tom and Connie fly in from L.A. to visit their friend, John. They want to go to 54 and decide to go Thursday night. John is apprehensive about taking them but agrees. That night, Tom wears = an Amish hat, a glimmering quiana nik nik shirt, white painter pants and Guccis. Connie puts glitter on her face and wears a sheer black bra and black Capezio skirt. Tom and Connie are refused admission and John is forced to abandon them and find his night at 54 alone. Why were Tom and Connie refused admission?

Cute and genius but what's the answer.

I'll try it .......... never went to Studio 54 :( so am disadvantaged ........... Thursday night is mentioned specifically ...... I was going to suggest that perhaps Studio 54 ..... (54 ? ) was dark on Thursday nights ...but since John made it in ..... well the main distinction being made here is that Tom and Connie were from LA and John was local . So ...... on Thursday nights ...... maybe it was members only . No guests .......
and then there's this ..... John is '"apprehensive " about taking them..... why would that be ? ..... seems he'd be anxious to take his friends ..... must be a problem with Tom and Connie ......underage??

Not sure if by "quiz" this is supposed to have a more clever puzzle/riddle type answer ... but that's my solution looking at it straight on.......

Thanks for giving it a try! I'll include your responses. We do get bonus points for creativity :wink: I wonder if there is an answer :roll: I am also wondering if the answer has something to do with the way they were dressed, because part 2 and 3 of the questions are as follows:

part 2

Tom and Connie, despite their embarassment and mutual vows of silence regarding the matter, want to go dancing. Connie does not want to go downtown and prefers to stay nerbay in Midtown. Both want to go somewhere that is as much in fashion as possible. Where do they try to get in next?

And part 3:

Tom and Connie fly back to L.A. The next weekend they go to a disco in the San Fernando Valley. Which of the following clothing combinations in inappropriate, even there?

a. silk shirt/blouse and Sergio Valenti jeans
b. cotton shirt/blouse and PErry Ellis jeans
c. rayon shirt/blouse and Gloria Vanderbilt jeans
d. polyester shirt/blouse and Jordache jeans
e. qiana shirt/blouse and Sasson jeans
