I have always loved this great Euro disco group - they have given us some cool Euro disco music over the years...
I found a 12" copy of the 1985 track ATLANTIS IS CALLING yesterday.

Who can ever forget the classic track YOUR MY HEART, YOUR MY SOUL
Hi Neil!
Do you know, I have toyed with the idea of starting a Modern Talking thread myself!!!! I love this group too, and have a Spanish Best Of CD which I love...so many of their songs are favourites of mine...Cheri Cheri Lady, Atlantis Is Calling, You Can Win If You Want, Geronimo's Cadillac...the CD I have has some great remixes of their biggest hits...fab! :D
Hi fella !Originally Written by phrankie
So many great tracks - A superb group.
We've had a few Modern Talking threads here through the last couple of years. As far as I recall members disagreed a lot whether this was good music or not.
here's one:

I actually own their first LP (rather unlike me, I might add)

They were phenomenally successful everywhere apart from the UK and USA. Best track i liked was the Paul Masterson mix of You're my Heart. I actually preferred Blue System.Much better songs.
God forbid, if it is so, more than half of what we're discussing here is down the drain, then. This concept of "good music" is very debatable as beauty, you know, is in the eye (and ear) of the beholder (and the listener). And speaking from the point of view of how lasting is smb's work, I should say that 4 out of 5 will remember the tune of Brother Louie, but I'm not sure how many would do that with Valerie Dore's The Night. It's just a matter of taste and if MT weren't successful in UK and USA, it was just a matter of promotion , I think. Or of taste.
My reckon for them being hated so much is they summed up charisma, talent, good voices, a certain flair, I don't know... But what I do know is to appreciate their music (which didn't sound so similar as everybody said and their 80s albums proved it) even now and rooting more for their 80s music than for the 2000 one. Peace !![]()
Love Bohlen tunes and together with Thomas's vocals, its wonderful songs full of melody and romance and Eurodisco beats :icon_cool:
My abiding memory of this group was when Tony De Vit first played Disco breaks 8 mixed with the original 12" in the old Nightingale... the crowd went absolutely mental when 'your my heart' started doing strange things... :icon_biggrin:
My personal favourite tune has always been 'you can win' - closely followed by 'jet airliner'
The first album sold approx 6 million copies.. not bad eh?
You make me wonder as you're passing by...
