Does the full length 12 inch version appear on CD at all?

My version of "Gonna get along with you now" was released by SugarHill records and clocks at 5:02, this original release was a Disco "anthem" here in Miami for many years, and then in the mid 80's there was the "Celebration Dance Mix" re-mix released on "Touch" records that injected new life into this recording by updating this song into the 80's style and becoming once again a local clubs hit.

:D Yes, I like you needed this song to complete my collection, and have fell victim to the garbage remixes and re-altercations of this masterpiece... Finally, I found the correct 12" version, bought it from someone in Europe from Ebay, I have the sugarhill one, ah its OK I also have a 45 rpm 7" radio mix from some label in the UK, ah still not the one I heard on the radio in 1978. So if you need more info for your collection, let me know... oh dont bother downloading it, the mp3 versions are close but no cigar! I am in the process of mastering my copies to CD!

I too have the Sugarhill original on 12 inch but from memory it barely runs to 5 mins. Would be interested to hear the 5:41 version to find out what the extra 40 seconds are all about!

I have a version on cd that runs approx 5:00 but I don't think it's the original '79 version. The background arrangement reminds me of the late 80's SAW/Rick Astley sound.

I knew i had this song somewhere and it is definitely the 79' version.It clocks in at 5:23 and the cd i have it on is called Maximum disco 12" on the DISKY Label...and it was released in 2000.Hope this helps...DISCODISCO
P.S. the cd... DC 994302 DISKY Printed in EU.

the "Celebration Mix" is probably the one you have, I never thought much about it back then but indeed this remix is similar to a SAW production, not bad IMO, a bit dated now,but it used to pack the floors when it first show up, at least in my area. This remix also features a vocal accapella intro, which was very handy to use when changing music styles during a DJing night, but thats another story. Since the label doesn't say I recorded it into my PC and it clocks at 5:46.9

Talking of Viola Wills - I dug out my copy of her 1988 dance hit " These thing`s Happen" which she recorded with THE BEATMASTERS... This is a great dance track that is very rare in the UK and goes for big bucks when it appers on e-bay.
