Barry White's cover version of Isaac Haye's "SHAFT "
on the LOVE UNLIMITED ORCHESTRA'S "Super Movie Themes " LP . Most notable change in this Gene Page arrangement : no waa-waa guitar! " SHAFT" without its waa-waa!! :-? ?
I can't imagine Barry didn't try applying his own deep vocals to this song when recording it. ........but this was released as an LUO instrumental. I wonder if in some 20th Century vault somewhere there's the forgotten vocal tracks gathering dust on the shelf ...... Barry White singing "SHAFT" .
