that sounds fucking hilarious!!!!
I hope they show it on MTV Europe. :P
Very very very strange television program...
MTV recruits some generation y kids (late teens early 20's) with the promise of participating in some sort of reality show. When they arrive at the house they are immediately stripped of any modern technology gadgets from the "terrible 2000's" they may have brought with them. They are then told they will be living in an authentic 1970's house complete with authentic 1970's furniture along with authentic 1970's electronics. Even the various cars they will be driving around in will have to be from the 1970's. They are then escorted to their rooms where they are stripped of the modern day clothing they are wearing and then told to look in their closets for their new clothes which of couse will have to be authentic 1970's clothing. The kids appear to be in shock while browsing through their new wardrobe. They also appear to be completely disgusted with the house, the furniture and all of it's ancient 1970's appliances.
I have not seen all of the episodes but apparently aside from having to live in the house they will also have to compete in sporting events against each other while dressed up in authentic 1970's sports apparel. Which ever team loses (boys against girls) will have two of their members
selected to compete against each other in some sort of 1970's themed event to determine which one of them will be kicked out of the house.
One of the episodes I saw had the guy from DANCE FEVER showing the kids how to come up with their very own DISCO dance routines. If I remember correctly none of the kids had ever even heard of him before.
Another episode had them competing in a basketball game. All of the kids were wearing authentic 1970's basketball era uniforms, shorts, shoes and socks. They were even using a red, white and blue basketball.
I NEVER watch MTV but I must admit that this show is amusing and must have required a lot of planning on their part. Especially the house. The house is AMAZING. They paid attention to every single exact detail. Well worth wasting 30 minutes each week to watch even by my anti MTV standards. The house alone by itself may be the GREATEST thing I have ever seen on MTV. They really did their homework.
Has anyone else seen this show yet?

It should be on over there too since it is a brand new show.
The generation gap within my own age group between those who are dependent on technology and those who are not is widening with each passing year.
I know some people my age who are too poor to afford a computer, a cell phone, a digital camera, an mp3 player, a portable dvd player etc... a microwave, a flat screen tv, a satellite for their television etc...
I also know some people my age who would feel absolutely naked without all of the above mentioned luxuries at their side.
Sometimes I am undecided as to whether this is a positive or a negative for society as a whole.
I have a few of the above, but I wouldn't collapse into a heap of emotional tears if they were taken away...for a while at least. Maybe coz, I'm old enough to recall the days before we had mobiles, and sat TV, and super-fast internet connections.
I dunno about wearing flares again :-?
same here
I can go for days without logging on to the internet, I hardly ever use my cell phone and my digital camera has been collecting dust ever since I bought it
One of the kids in the house almost has a heart attack when told that they will be taking away both his laptop and his cell phone.
"YOU CANT TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME"
"THAT'S MY BABY!"
