Here's one song you forgot to mention:

    Shalamar - Uptown Festival 1977

This song is a medley of many great 60's and early 70's Motown classics such as:

Four Tops - Sugar Pie Honey Bunch 1965

Supremes - Love Is Like An Itchin' In My Heart 1966
    and lots lots more.

In 1974 Van McCoy did a lot of cover versions on his "Love Is The Answer" LP. Here are the ones to mention:
Love Is The Answer - Stylistics 1974
    Backstabbers - The O'Jays 1972
Proud Mary - Credence Clear Water Of Revival 1969, Ike & Tina Turner 1971/72
You Are The Sunshine Of My Life - Stevie Wonder 1972/73
Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Diana Ross 1970
Boogie Down - Eddie Kendricks 1973/74

No one has yet mentioned two of my favorite disco remakes so good for making non-fans go, "Huh?!!":

"Stairway to Heaven/Whole Lotta Love" medley (not the exact title, I know)--The Wonder Band (Led ZZZepplin; I don't know the year, but I was in high school!)

"Bang A Gong"--Witch Queen (T. Rex; ditto, but maybe junior high)

Revelacion: "THE HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN" (The Animals - 1964)

Karen Young: "EXPRESSWAY TO YOUR HEART" ( Soul Survivors - 1967) A white group produced and written by early Gamble & Huff.

Thanks, zeca. Yes, that's the song. I knew it was done by someone whose music I don't own.

I remember Madeline Bell's "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" from 1968 (#26 Pop)

Madeline. a black British singer, later recorded for some of those Euro guys--was it Cerrone or Costandinos or BOTH? Or was it someone else?

    Hmmmm.....

Correction: I just visited the Music Store.

Madeline Bell was American. But moved to England and did lotsa backup for the likes of Dusty Springfield.

"I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" was originally recorded by Dee Dee Warwick.

Madeline's vocals were for Space including the glorious "My Love Is Music" and "Save Your Love For Me". How could I forget that???

Update: Oh and she's on Cerrone's "Love In C Minor" too. I just saw that. I didn't check the rest of 'em.

    * Gloria Gaynor did a disco cover of I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN (Cole Porter)

    * DISCO CONNECTION did a 1982 euro-dico remake of ROCK YOU BABY (George MC Crae)
with 80's vocoder vocals (a very cheezy version) This was actually produced by a belgian studio, and it was a big hit overhere back in the days, but i don'know if the rest of the world got spared of it or not?

Whatever, I like the Candi Staton version indeed!

As you know, pop music is not my strongest point.

    Some other classics:

    Show Business"

    Read My Mind"/"Stormy Weather"
15)Every Song from TUXEDO JUNCTION is a
    coverversion...
You see, the list is endless.
I find the most DiscoCoverVersions very
    interesting, because they did something
really new with an old song...and arranged
it compeletly new or different...this was
really creative instead of today´s Mainstream
    CoverVersions.
