Yes, this may come as a shock to you, but a wide variety of people of all sexual preferences.. including a few gays and lesbians were and are connected to and/or enjoy disco music.

As for Manilow, it's amazing how little information there is about his love life considering how long he's been around. To me, all signs point to him being gay but I don't believe there's ever been confirmation one way or the other.

I saw him Ellen (ironically) not long ago doing an updated version of Could it Be Magic. Much more disco-like and dancy like the Donna Summer version. Personally I enjoy all versions of the song... it's very powerful.
