    A Star Is Born

Which version of "A Star Is Born" is the best?

Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland or Barbra?

    A Star Is Born

Garland and Mason. To me there's no contest.

The 1937 version with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March was very good, as well as an interesting example of an early use of color in a movie with a (then) contemporary setting. And the cast was great.

1976's remake with Barbra was... well, Barbra -- with Kris Kristofferson, whom I have learned to tolerate only recently.

As for the 1954 one, James Mason and the cast were really superb, and Judy was... well, Judy. Too bad her Hollywood comeback stalled after this.
