Mmmmmmm. Now, yes 'I don't wanna' was NOT released in the UK when it topped the HINRG chart. Casablanca as a label moniker, was bought by Phonogram, then, part of the Polygram
Group. Don't Forget, Micheal Sembello, Irene Cara were on the same label in 1983. They bought the rights to 'Coming' and subsiquently got 'I don't wanna' as it never got UK rights in the first place. I will have to check but I think it could have been one of the last 'new' tracks given release on this label.
Casablanca was originally a PYE company (later PRT), but it switched, as many company's did in those days, distributer.
I know, in 1980 when 'Funkytown' came out Casablanca in 1980 it was a PYE company and when Cameo 'Freaky Dancin''
was out in 1981, it was a Phonogram company. I hope this helps.
