LENIS GUESS & FAMILY-YOU CANT DESTROY A PURE MAN-VOC/INST norfolk international [u.s]1975 uses 'i have a dream'
I have a friend that is looking for a song he heard on one of the Internet streaming radio stations. Unfortunately, he doesn't have much info.
The song was an old disco classic. (yea, that helps alot)
During part of it, they sampled in one of Martin Luther King's speeches.
I told him this is something the DJ probably did himself or it possibly could be something a DJ did for a circuit party CD or something.
Ring any bells with anyone?

Glenn Jones - I am somebody? Or is that not a MLK sample?
And isn't there a MLK sample in "The Crown" by Gary Byrd and the GB Experience?
Could it be Jolly Roger "Acid Man". There's a quick MLK sample in that.
It might have been "Spiritual High" by Moodswings but there is a catch. The song was first released in 1990 as an instrumental on the ZOOM label out of London with just background chants.
In 1992, BMG/Arista out of Holland released it again on the double lp titled Moodfood by Moodswings. Here, the song is a three-part medley: Spiritual High Part I, Spiritual High (State of Independence) Part II, Spiritual High Part III. Part II now has a lead female vocal and Part III runs several verses of the Martin Luther King "I HAVE A DREAM SPEECH" over the chants.
If your friend remembers the song being very mellow and low in both feel and tempo, then this could be the one. Also, the vocals on 'State of Independence' were done by Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. Might help in your search.
Simon - Free At Last on Positiva is a great tune which uses the MLK speech - and loads of it.
released in 2001 and featuring 2 mixes. Bushwacka's Class of 88 remix + DJ Pierre's King Dream mix.
If it aint the right one, tell him to buy it anyway!!![]()
