    Cruisin' The Streets

Does anyone have a copy of Boystown Gang's 'Crusin' The Streets' to hand and could post the label credits for me please?

    Thanks in advance.

My copy is a Canadian pressing on Dee Jay Productions records. Song is credited to Bill Motley. Also says "Produced by Bill Motley/Executive Producer: Victor Swedosh
Published by Gicomo (CAPAC)* and Moby Dick (ASCAP)"

I also have the instrumental remix -- this is an original on Moby Dick, and has no credits other than songwriter and producer for Bill Motley, and "Disco Remix by Craig Morey - 'Trip' Ringwald - Mike Lewis"

(*Is only relevant to the Canadian market, natch)

Thanks Huffstutler, but I think Graham has covered the info I need (writer / producer / publisher). Could I just check the year of the album with you though?

Here's the info off the Moby Dick lp label:

    Moby Dick Records
    231 Hartford Street
    San Francisco, CA 94114

    BTG-231
    1981
    Produced by Bill Motley
    Exec. Producer Victor Swedosh
Published/Copyright by Moby Dick Records - ASCAP

There's additional musician and engineer credits on the jacket if you need them. Just holler. :)

    Hi Mr Greg. If you need the info from the domestic UK copy;

    Year;1981
    Dist; WEA
    Cat no; DICK1T
    Label; Moby Dick
    Pub by Moby Dick
    Writer/Prod; Bill Motley
    Exec prod; Victor Swedosh/Stan Morriss

Other info; B side to 'Ain't no mountain high enough/Remember me in an edited version from the album without the 'cruising' chat lines in the middle.

    That's the UK copy anyway.

Hi Graham_ Start: Thanks for that - much appreciated.

I don't remember the instumental version. When did this first appear and was it totally instro? I had a copy of the album and, if my memory serves me right, a 12" (might have been UK) with 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' on the A side and an edited version (taking out the cop sequence) on the flip.

It's in a black and yellow sleeve with the graphics of the original but not the pictures. The remix has a lot of synths, and some percussion put through some heavy feedback flanging. The only vocal that I can hear is "cruisin the streets" run through a vocoder. This remix is actually the a-side, the b-side contains a Joe LaGreca/Denis LePage remix of Remember Me/Ain't No Mountain High Enough. Catalog number is #BTG-234 (I think, the spine is damaged on my copy where this is). Track times are not indicated on the label.
