    Rare Disco Plz!!!

This is a message, a request, a desperate demand.

Dear recordfirm-executives, past and present, I know that sometimes releasing rare Discotracks is a financial risk. You have to press the cd's, distribute and promote them.

But a solution that is still underrated IMO, is to put the stuff on the net and let people download them for a fair price just like many sites already do.

The problem is: we can buy the regular Disco but what about stuff like Boris Midney, Madleen Kane, Costandinos, etc, etc.. ??? Hardly to find, even on Amazon (I mean the original full albums, not only the best of)

Do it now and do it quick. Where's the risk? No stock at all.

Of course, if you insist on releasing them on CD/New Vinyl, we will complie to all your demands.

C'mon guyz, I just know that you are reading this.

    Thank you in advance.

(I know this is a pathetic plea, but we can always try, n'est-ce pas?)

It's a very good idea. However one of the problems is distribution of royalties and the rights, not to mention the politics (i.e Salsoul perhaps not wanting to be associated with Champagne Records or TK etc.) to do something like this.

The people who post here are not some 'closed shop'. there are thousands, if not millions of people, globally who want this music. Here in London, a friend of mine who plays out 80's soul & disco music on a pirate radio station, on a Sunday morning gets more listeners then London's leading dance station at the same time. People are seeking out these tunes. The audience in the pub where I play once a month, is made up of House DJ's and record producers who come and take notes!! Our Disco night in the West End this Saturday is already full to capacity. I left 1,000 flyers at the venue 3 weeks ago and they had all gone by last Friday. Myself, and the other two organisers of the party know of 350 people who are definitiely coming and the venue holds 250.

The world is crying out for this. With a bit if investment, marketing, sponsorship it could be done. I'd be happy to apply for the post of UK representative!

    Videoskooter,

This doesn't really address the full scope of your request (which I fully agree with, btw)...but you can find most Boris Midney releases on CD's on Amazon. Some are new, others are used. Prices vary wildly: the Caress CD is available for as little as 80 cents while the 2-CD anthology is going for $99!

Quality people want quality music, you're talking about a new niche market...

The royalties issue will complicate things, maybe you can work around them...
