Marky, how can u say that 'Muscles' is naff & then say u like 'Beat It'? :-? Beat It is such a dreadful rock-lite excuse for a record IMO. :( Beat It was the beginning of the end for Michael IMO.

Sandy I loves me some BEAT IT!!!! Love the hooks--I've never tired of it. :D :D :D

IMHO, Miss Jackson's downfall began with the followup LP "BAD" which kinda was...BAD, that is...or maybe just disppointing....

Totally agree that 'Bad' was indeed bad & everything after it pretty dire too; I notice you've included a track from Bad though - did this sneak through? :-?

I always thought The Way You Make Me Feel was the one redeeming track on "Bad."

It was all downhill from there. Jacko started singing in that rapsy snarl (to give him some "street cred"???) and kept tryin' to act "tuff" in his videos which I thought was LAUGHABLE!!!!

James Dean got it right. Die young/Stay pretty. THE LEGEND LIVES 50 years later!!! The aging process is a bitch.

Yeah, the best career move for Michael woulda been to die when his hair set fire on that Pepsi commercial. :o

I always thought the 'Triumph' LP had far better tracks than 'Can You Feel It' such as 'Everybody', 'Walk Right Now', 'Lovely One' & 'Heartbreak Hotel' (how come this track was renamed 'This Place Hotel' on the CD? :-? )

Oh they probably got sued by the songwriters of the Elvis Presley "Heartbreak Hotel." (didn't Hoyt Atkins's mama write that song?) :-?

But then Whitney did another one with the same title, dint she?

I think the music in "Can You Feel It" is wonderful--loved the sample of it in The Tamperer's "Feel it"...anyone know what the hell the singer (Maya) sings.."she's gonna like like there's a CHIMNEY on it"??? Is that what she's sayin'? :-? :-? :-?

I could never figure that out--but I guess if ya bopped someone on the head they could have a bump that could look like a chimney on a roof--is that the jist? :-? :o :o

Oh, oh, I derailed another thread. I'm real good at that.

2 of my favorite Jacksons songs from their Epic period are

"Time Waits for No One" and "Think Happy". "Think Happy" has the classic Gamble/Huff/MFSB sound, and "Time Waits for No One" is a ballad so beautiful it almost makes me cry. And am I the only one curious that, even though Michael is often listed as the writer of the songs he sings, you've NEVER seen or heard him playing a musical instrument?
