    Help me please

    Hi all,
Seeing that this is my first post, I wont make it to long.
I'm after some help with what I know will be a great 70's and disco night in a bar I'm taking the residency over, but I've hit a snag.
I know all of the old school tunes (candi Staton, Rose rose Bee Gees etc), but I want something with a bit of an edge.
Something in the region of a Studio 54 night, rather than a normal "70's Disco".
Can anyone help me out and give me a few track listings that have the same hi energy disco sound as Brainstorm's - loving is really my game.
I'm racking my brain trying to get hold of something of that sort of tempo and energy.
    Any help would be apreciated.

    All the best.

A Studio 54-style night - now that would mean big production number disco records? Tracks with the same energy level of the very fast Brainstorm tune and around the same bpm range include Conzalez: Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet, Amanda Lear's 12" version of Follow Me, Sphinx's Judas Iscariot, Trax's Watch Out For The Boogie Man, Destination's Move On Up Suite, Tantra's Hills Of Katmandu, Passion's In New York, Liquid Gold's The Night The Wine And The Roses, and Sandstorm by La Bionda. Throw in some Nightlife Unlimited (Disco Choo Choo) and then maybe you should slow the tempo down a little bit...:-)

If you're going to centre on 140 BPM you won't find that many (waaay too fast)

However, centre on 130 BPM (126-134) and there are sheds full. Check out the second Top 500 chart on this site and start there.

I agree with Quinny you are limmiting your choices to a narrow selection, however others that you can add that are up there in BPM propably not as fast a Brainstorm though
    (no particular order)

    Cheryl Lynn - Star Love
    Donna Summer - Sunset People
    Front Page - Love Insurance
    The Ring - Savage Lover
Peter Brown - Crank it Up
    Edwin Starr - Happy Radio
    Sylvester - Mighty Real/Disco Heat
Claudja Barry - Boogie Woogie Dancin Shoes

Would make for a good highenergy set id say.

I also agree about limiting yourself in a certain bpm range. If you play nothing but Hi-NRG all night, you'll burn out the dancers early on and loose a lot of patrons who want to dance but can't keep up the pace. I think you can find a happy medium where you have a hefty helping of Hi-NRG and some midrange songs... something slower like "Can You Feel It" by the Jacksons would mix in well. Has a sense of Hi-NRG but slower pace of 126bpm :D
