Not sure. If the 'Earthquake' Flirtations were the same as the 'Nothing but heartaches' Flirtations, she wasn't of she replaced somebody. The original line up of that lot was;
Shirley & Eamestine Pearce and Viola Billups.
Does anyone have any info on the singer Pearly Gates ?
I have a track by her called ACTION ! which was a HINRG smash hit in 1985/86 - I actually know very little about her.. She appears to have been part of the girl group THE FLIRTATIONS..

Its interesting to see how the line up of Levines groups changed over the years - I have a 12" single by THE FLIRTATIONS called BACK ON MY FEET AGAIN (1989) It has PEARLY GATES with Shirley & Earnstene Pearce.Originally Written by Davicillo
The Flirtations also had a big high energy smash called 'Read All About It'.Didn't like it personally but it did very well. Earthquake was of course a classic
Quite, agree. 'Earthquake', apart from the late sixties/early 70s stuff was miles better. I was never very keen on the Nightmare stuff.
I ahve READ ALL ABOUT IT on 12" promo and a PASSION compilation CD....Not a bad track but not up to the same standard as EARTHQUAKE...Originally Written by monty69
She had a very good (if slightly poppy) record out in '78 or ''79 called Fandango Dancing, which I used to play quite regularly.
Should be a few copies knockin' about and I'd imagine quite cheap too.
Thanks for the info guys... I will have to keep my eyes peeled for that fandango Dancing...Originally Written by QUINNY

I found a 12" copy of Fandango dancing a few weeks ago - its not a bad little disco number... I also found another Pearly Gates track called ONE LESS BELL TO ANSWER...
I dont think you can top ACTION though....
I wonder what happened to her..?
Pearly gates appeared in the Pilot episode for Game For A Laugh and got dropped, I think she had something of a solo career back in the late sixties or early seventies
Pearly Gates is a great singer - pity we dont hear more from her... I see you are in Bolton - I live next door in Bury !!!Originally Written by Bolly
I'm right between Bolton and Bury in Ainsworth village (We're the only gays in the village you know!)
