    Queen Samantha?

Another question about a Eurodisco artist whose biography is hard to find.

Does any of you know more about Queen Samantha? Is she French? Does she still perform?

I would also like to know more about this artist as I have only really discovered her stuff in recent years as she never seemed to mean much in the UK at the time. I bought the 'best of' CD on Hot Productions & it struck me how the vocals sound quite different on various tracks which made me think that maybe Queen Samantha didn't exist & it was a producer-driven set-up using session singers as many disco acts did. You never see a picture of this mysterious Queen Samantha! :-? (she wouldn't be the first mysterious queen I've encountered! )

NRG, "Don't stop, I feel good"

Which is one of my preferred Queen Samantha outputs. San could be right by stating that it mainly was a producers-project. But after a little more searching I came up with the name of one Gloria Brooks who surely was the or one of the Samantha's.

The producers and writers were Charles Ibgui and Harry Chalkitis. So I definitely think there were French roots.

Any other revealings would be most welcome

Apart from 'The Letter and 'Queen Samantha 2' on Marlin there is one other album i'm aware of: 'The Queen Samantha' on Celsius (Canada) from 1979-1980 with a glamorous lady on the sleeve. This is the album with the classic 'Close Your Eyes' which sadly didn't make it onto either the Unidisc or Hot Best Ofs. For those who want to see more of sexy Sam check the Spanish RCA 12" of 'Give Me Action' from '82.
