... ... not that there's anything wrong with that .....8)

----As I listen to these old disco and soul groups of the mid -seventies I'm noticing just how many of them featured a super high-pitched lead male vocalist . Personally I felt that The Stylistics and The Chi-lites filled that genre about right . Not even close .... here are some of the glass breakers I've come upon including similarly styled solo artists :
1 - The Stylistics
2 - The Chi-lites
3 - Phily Devotions
4 - The Softones
5 - Eddie Kendricks
6 - Frederick Knight
..... There're others that don't come to mind right now .... shall we make a complete list ??? :-? :D

Funny this topic should be here. I was listening to my slow jams cd on the way to work and I thought about that as I was listening to New Birth's Dream Merchant. One the singers (don't know who) sounded similar to one of the Stylistics vocalist.
1968 BRENTON WOOD "Me & You"
1978 CURTIS MAYFIELD "No Goodbyes"
1978 THEO VANESS "Nobody But You"
1979 STEVIE WONDER "Power Flower"
Phillip Bailey of Earth Wind and Fire
Curtis Mayfield
Smokey Robinson
What about Miss Jackson, If yer nasty?........(that's Michael, if ya had any doubts.)
:P :P :P :P :P
Patrick Juvet - His falsetto sounds a bit like one of the muppets!
Blue Magic :D
Demis Roussos - I though he was a girl when I heard L.O.V.E on a CD untilI got it on vinyl and saw his comedy moustache. :P
I thought I was the ONLY PERSON familiar with Stevie Wonder's "Flower Power"! Every time I play it, I try to imagine the most melodic Black male singer of all time interpreting it (I'm talking, of course, about Johnny Mathis). I always thought Stevie Wonder and Johnny Mathis could make some awesome music together, that melodic voice Mathis' and those melodic songs of Stevie's.

THE MOMENTS
Sorry to be totally uncool & naff but what about the Bee Gees? :-?
San, are you an intern at Universal    ?Originally Written by SandraDee
The Bee Gees? ABSOLUTELY!!! But I'm afraid many of the members here are not big fans and don't consider them as Soulfull voices. Sad but true
Oh I'm quite aware that they aren't liked here video & I'm not that keen myself but they were very successful & sang with falsetto voices which is what this thread is all about isn't it? :-? . I agree that they weren't soulful but many that are previously listed aren't; Patrick Juvet, Theo Vaness; I don't think so!Anyway, I like soulful voices & I like poppy voices, & disco encompassed both quite happily.
I don't see anything wrong with the Bee Gees... I believe their are the N Sync of the Disco World...![]()
Or are to embarrased to admit it....
Hey ol'skinflint, a brazilian singer who met Stevie said that he is a very very tall guy and he doesn't stop to move 'cause he is a very very musical person.

1977 George McCrae "Kiss Me (The Way I Like)"
1978 Crown Heights Affair "Galaxy Of Love"
1981 Chas Jankel "Glad To Know You"
1983 PAUL MCCARTNEY ''SO BAD''
Oh yeah! How did I forget to mention the Bee Gees as much as I love them, SandraDee? That was the group! Very uniquely falsetto. "Night Fever" is one of my tops.![]()
How about Leo "I feel like dancing" Sayer?
or Sir Monti Rock III's 'Disco tex and the Sex-o-lettes"?
In the soul category you have Marvin Gaye with "Got to give it up" or how about Aaron Neville? Isley Brothers? there are so many..
And Prince! "Wanna be your lover" and "I feel for you" are very Disco!
And I DO like the Bee Gees BTW. Wanna see me jump on da floor, just play "You should be dancing" and look what happens .![]()
One hit wonder Finis Henderson...

These 2 falsetto/high pitch voiced singers (no relation) would definately fit into this category although they are seldom mentioned. In my opinion, Even though the highly flamboyant "Tony Williams" of the "Superiors" could take it *waaaaay* up there and held his own with the absolute best of falsetto singers,"Harry Williams" of "Bloodstone" seemed more appropriate to fit the bill as being more dynamic.
The Dynamic Superiors - Tony Williams
Bloodstone - Harry Williams

I don't know about the Isley Brothers mentioned above. The lead (Ronald Isley?) occasionally howls or says a word in a falsetto, but he doesn't sing large sections of songs in falsetto. Just like Marvin Gaye - he occasionally goes into a mild falsetto, but doesn't stay there for long.
