Is this worth getting? I see it's all remixes by the current crop of folks who ususally ruin everything they touch...so I've been skeptical. :P :o

hmmmm...I clicked on the link and listened to a sample...and it seems just like the original records...so is this a remix project or just a reissue project?

Yeah --- I do wish they shared more details. Most of the cuts are on the Salsoul Classics CDs and the Salsoul Orchestra Anthology CD. Then again, there's two Candido cuts here not included elsewhere along with a True Example, a First Choice, Leroy Burgess and Inner Life cuts. So, how many times do we shell out the bucks? :x

BTW - Did you know they released another Salsoul Orchestra Anthology 2-CD set? Includes a good deal of stuff already on the first one but with some additionals --- like a "PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED" Tom Moulton Mix of "Salsoul Hustle". I repeat: "How many times...."

I have the same problem with "Salsoul" nowadays. I adore many and many stuff they've put out in all those years but now they are really cashing in with their vault.

Luckily for people who are missing certain stuff in their collection but recently it has become very dangerous to buy those compils coz' in one way or another you mostly have the essentials when you both the different Anthology releases.

I could swear that I when I looked at this cd at Amoeba...it appeared to be a remix job...with current DJs names under each of the old classic tracks...so I assumed that they were remixes... but the sample I listenened to didn't apear to be "tampered" with. :-? :-? :-?

I got this CD from my local HMV store a couple of months ago, being something of a Salsoul Orchestra fan - but not knowing much about the label's other material.

According to the Salsoul UK label website http://www.sussd.com, it is the DJs who have chosen the tracks for the compilation.

    Hope this helps,

    Ian

I agree - I havent bought this as I have most of the tracks on other comps.
It'd be good for them to do a comp of tracks that have not been on any other Salsoul re-issue comp, so that we collectors don't end up buying tracks we already had.
Perhaps I'll feed back through the Suss'd site.
