I've mentioned this band on a few occassions. I've been meaning to get this album for the longest time mostly for Use Your Imagination. I have the 45 but after 30 years of frequent plays, it's beat down.
I finally got a Japanese reissue of this album on cd after waiting over a year in my wishlist. It's been generally pricey (at least for cheapskate me), but the $20 I paid for it is as low as I've seen it. I am highly recommending this cd. If anyone especially you younger folks wanna hear '70s sound, this is one of the albums that truly shines at this.
Kokomo was one of those predominantly white british funk bands. One might think it's another AWB. Not at all. There music might best be described as a nice combination of Mass Production and Rose Royce, at least to my ears. Every song was beautiful. That's Enough really took me back to the 70s. Funky and mellow, I was ready to spark one up :D
Ballads Happy Birthday and Little Girl had a naturalness that comes when artist are working the music. This is in contrast to the mechanical sameness you hear in much of today's music.
If ya don't have this album or cd, I strongly recommend getting it.
