    ANOTHER " Big Three "

    ******

How about this ..... again someone places three different artists onto the charts ......
------- this time it's on the Billboard Compilation chart for the TOP 100 DISCO SONGS of 1975 ... ( markydefad)
To word it correctly this person was " involved " in the music of these three acts ..... varying in his/her role a bit ....but very significant in each ....

    As is always best .....
this one has a bit of a punchline to the story :

.......After this early string of successes ..... this person never returns to the disco chart again ..... (!!!!)

    Name 'em !! :D ......... "_____ ??? _____ " ................ good luck !

OK ......maybe a little more info is needed here ... :D

There was a bit of a clue within the : "this person never returns to the disco chart again" comment .... not the disco chart specifically .... but this person does quite well on other charts ... taking a song all the way to number 3 on Billboard's Hot 100 .... the artist he did this with ? ........ himself !!! :P
His self-penned hit was a bit of a sleeper .. took weeks to break and ran on the charts for an impressive 20 weeks ......

    does that help ?? :D

I think the answer is KENNY NOLAN

co-wrote "Lady Marmalade" with Bob Crewe
Sang on "Get Dancin" (the falsetto)...and "Hollywood Hot"... (both produced by Bob Crewe).

then scored a solo record with the ballad "I LIke Dreaming" which peaked at #3 on the Pop chart.

Bob himself returns to the disco chart in early 1976 with "Street Talk" which does very well....then he faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaades away!!!! :-?

...... The answer is .........KENNY NOLAN ....... :D

Very good, Mr. Marky and before my next clue too , which was going to be .. "And he didn't do it alone .......he had help from his Crewe"...

Although I suspect you didn't even need the last hint and were just holding back ....

Joel Whitburn says Kenny Nolan : * "fronted" the studio group The Eleventh Hour
    * co-wrote w/ Bob Crewe Labelle's "Lady Marmalade"
    * co-wrote and sang on Disco Tex's "Get Dancin'" but even more than that , he is listed on the album as an actual SEX-O-LETTE .... ( "I caaan't darling .... I'm exhausted from all this .... my wig is wet ...my wig is wet .....")

His one big hit did indeed creep up the chart , but there was another point in mentioning that his song was a sleeper ...... " I LIKE DREAMING " being its title. :P :P

---- also --- Since there is quite a bit of discussion about Atlantic Starr on the board it's worth noting that he wrote their hit "MASTERPIECE" which he considers his greatest song according to the following article :

Good job Marky ....His "Hollywwod Hot" connection was the most obscure element .....

I'm not so sure about that Marky .......didn't he produce Frankie Valli's wonderful "HEAVEN ABOVE ME " lp ?? with "SOUL" in 1980 ????
    ( I think so )

Yep, but something happened after the STREET TALK LP....I know after that he did an LP of original compostions produced by Jerry Wexler which musta bombed....but he had been so prolific in the dance world for 2 years and then just dropped it. I wanna know what happened. Frankie Valli's SOUL/HEAVEN ABOVE ME was from 1980. What did Bob do between 1977 and then?????

No Disco Tex, Frankie Valli, Geri Granger, Eleventh Hour "Hollywood Hot pickin' up chicken & Hollywood & Vine"," "Lady Marmalade," 'struttin her stuff on the street"... no B.C.G. Hollywood & Vine "Street Talkin' Cherry Boy" prostitute songs????......did he take a much needed vacation??? :-? Exhausted from all that "hustlin' on the "street scene"????
