How do you listen to Disco?

What is the best way (other than Vinyl and Cd) to listen to Disco and hard to find Disco Classics? Is there a best website, radio staton, Club, City, or what ever...let me know. :cry:

I'm sad to say that I don't know anything better nowadays.

Well in bigger cities around here they have clubs that have a theme like "soul corner" or similar once a week or once a month, where you sometimes can hear some good music.

There are of course web radio but the sound quality and the fact that most of them are automated makes it not so interesting to me.

I have a "mission" to keep the heritage alive and I feed some current DJ:s with good old tunes and I do some classic Disco or funk theme nights myself once or twice a year.

How are things in Detroit. Are there any places where you can enjoy good music among other "Disco aficionados"

Detroit was once a rara avis for all music....from Motown to Techno .......but it seems the last 5 years or so, Detroit has slipped into the unpalatable perils of appealing to the masses of American conservatism when it comes to music..... I suppose because the music industry is control by a hand full of "old head "conservatist.....but fortunately the underground scene is ubiquitous. Also because Detroit is literally 2 minutes from the Maple Leaf (Canada) specifically Windsor Ontario.....they have a variety of Disco Lounges. Sometimes I will "Creep" across the border. :-? As far as the Clubs ....the best bet here....I would have to say Oslo's(Downtown) and Centre Street Lounge(Harmony Park) for early 80's progressive music.(stuff like John Rocca, Was not Was, etc.).......but for Classic Disco I have to tune in to our Direct TV music channel to hear Classic Disco. I Still have a box full of my old trusty 90minute TDK casette tape music of Radio Mix shows back in the day on 102.7 LBS(Lisa Lisa mix-show).....Chicago's WGCI(Jullian Jump'in Perez mix show) 107.5 WGPR(The Electrifying Mojo) and Lots more mix radio shows. :D

It is always good to here how other places "get-down"....and I'm glad to hear Sweden in still in the mixx in the mixx in the mixx in the mixx
