    Let's all chant, another version???

    Hi all,
I've had this mp3 for a while and have been curious as to who actually did this remake of lets all chant. It's not entirely different than the original, but still nice - i personally like this mix better. It was originally tagged as Gino Soccio, but i have a feeling that might be false. Give it a listen and enjoy, if anyone can help with the id it would be appreciated.

I have the same exact version on a 12 inch but more extended. The file you have is edited with the breaks takin out. I believe it's just a reisue. The 12 inch single I have, says on the sleeve, Classic Dance Tracks, It also says it's the original version, but it's not, a more enhanced version. The Lable is black colored and says, BCM Records and Domino Records, printed in Westarn Gemany. Has no year on it. On the flip side it has Traffic Jam, and also the dub mix of Traffic Jam.

You have good taste, I also like this version much better than the Original, much more enhanced.....

This one is definatly a mystery...

I forgot to mention, there is a few copies on gemm on the Lable Domino, which is the version you want. Gino Soccio had nothing to do with this song.....

It sounds to me like it could be a remix and not a cover, and this song has been remixed many a time. Going by the production, I'd peg this one from around 1985.

I'm pretty certain it's the 1987 re-mixed re-released version of Michael Zager's 1977 original release - Let's All Chant. it was released on Domino Records in the UK. It was subsequently re-released in 1990 and again in 2000, all different re-mixes, but close enough to the original.

    Hope this helps

Sounds like a remake to me. The harpsichord isn't anywhere near the same nor the break with the clarinet, although the vocals sound very near to the original.

I think It was the 12" that I used to stock in Our Price. I was issued, as stated before by Domino Records of Portsmouth, UK, around 1988 (I think). They also licensed Sylvester 'Do you wanna funk' and Jeanie Tracy 'Don't leave me this way'. As Quinny said, Its a remake. Cat no; DOM ? T (not sure on Number but definately not 1 or 2)

Domino released quite a few (locally) hot disco records as re-releases.

The 'Do You Wanna Funk' Sylvester release was almost like a remake, except we did use the original 2 track as the basis for the track (NOT the 24 track master), added heavy drum machine over the top and my infamous piano solo (which was so infantile they spliced it in for a second time later in the disc). It took some 15 hours or so to do, I never got paid a bean and neither I nor the guy who was employed to do the 'remix' was ever credited on the centre label. Some guy from Brighton? got all the credit.

Quinny, I heard gossip at the time it was somebody who worked at Rounder Records in Brighton. Whether that's true I don't know.
