    Silvetti tune

    ******
Actually it's not the song title I'd like identified .. I have that ..... I'm trying to identify why I know it . I'm playing Silvetti's "Spring Rain" LP and there's a cut on there called "Travel ChecK" ---- wasn't a Top 40 song --- so I don't think it was from the radio. But it's very familiar , although I don't know it by its title. Maybe it's a theme to something or was used on a TV commercial ..... almost sounds like something Benny Hill would 've used ..... ????.... ( the correct title of the album is "World Without Words" so the song hasno lyrics ..just plenty of "do do do do do do do do do .....do do do do do " )

"World Without Words" and "Spring Rain" are not the same LP. Different mixes of a few songs (with different titles) are on both, but the two albums each have a unique feel. "World Without Words" doesn't have a lot of danceable material on it, and sounds more like a soundtrack to some late 60s European film. "Spring Rain" has the boogie factor. :)

Thanks for that info Graham . I have to admit all these various versions of things depending on what country it was released , what mix, what remix , .. is a bit of an eye opener for me. I typically just acquired a version of something ...not worrying about which version it was .,,, well I always sought the long version .... I hope I have the "Spring Rain" album as well...... I'd like to play them one against the other . You are right about " World Without Words " ---- very schmaltzy --60's soundtrackish --- a la Montavani. But I thought that was Silvetti. There is a great cut on here called "Silvia's Picture" .... has to have a heart breaking real-life story behind it ........ In the meanttime I remain in the dark as to where I've heard "Travel Check"..... had to have been a commercial ...........

I have been looking for these on CD for years. glad to get them. The sellers Ebay ID is: MOOKEE420

there is another seller selling bootlegs on Ebay and if I remember correctly he goes by: SHAK

avoid his CD's as they are taken from vinyl and not very clean copies either.

    A bit off topic,

Graham (and those like me that like Piano songs) since you enjoy Silvettis sound try to find this cut (if you don't have it already) by George Fischoff called "Piano Dancing", it has shades of "Spring Rain" over a "More More" beat with nice melody with conga break and all. I just re-discovered this one I had forgotten all about..
