From the past, simpply 'cos I've always thought they looked superb for the time and I loved playing with my Corgi cars.

Well Discoman, we may not agree politically but looking good in our cars is something I think many of us can relate to 8)

True enough but your wacky leftist friends in California would **** seeing me drive a V-12 engined car that MIGHT get 18 mpg on a good day.

I don't know if you've ever been here Discoman but in Cali your car would be part of the crowd. Sure, we have some folks driving hybrids but a lot of 'em drive drive gas guzzling Hummers to sports cars. Heck, my sports car aint exactly sipping the gas esp. when I get those stoplight challenges.

I think I mentioned on a previous thread that I've always loved the Lamborghini Miura from the early 70s. Not many current cars do much for me I'm afraid but my current car, the Smart Roadster is a fabulous little car - very sporty but also very kind to the environment with its efficient lightweight structure & many active safety features.

SD, do you remember the original "Italian Job" where the Miura was speeding towards a dreadful ending in the tunnel? One of the most sexy cars ever produced in one of the most dramatic car-scenes ever :D

The Smart Roadster is a very enjoyable and sporty car. Real vlue for money!

    .

    .

BWM is trying to look like their Jap Crap competition.
The Miura first hit the streets in '66 and was sold 'till '72(?) when the Countach took over.

A story about Ferruccio Lamborghini: Lamborghini was originally a Ferrari customer and early Ferraris were known for their heavy clutches. After the purchase of a new Ferrari Lamborghini complained to Enzo about the heavy clutch. Enzo got really pissed off at Ferruccio and said something to the effect of (I paraphrase) "Who are you to complain about my cars, you are only a tractor driver" and threw Lamborghini out of his office. So Ferruccio decided to beat Enzo at his own game and he did so with the Lamborghini 3500 GT followed by the Miura.
