    BEST MIAMI DISCO TRACK

    In the late 80s, there was a sudden onslaught of what was nicknamed 'Miami disco' in the UK. What is the forums opinion
    of these tracks and what is the standout tracks. For me;

    Company B - Fascinated
    Expose - Point of no return (Phil Harding mix)

    I didn't know it was called Miami Disco, "Point" was more like "Freestyle" and it was all known as the Miami sound, a lot of good catchy tunes came out of Miami around those years, Company B's was a huge local hit, one could work that record for what seemed like an eternety, Ciro Llerena did the remix he was a DJ at club Casanovas, and the song was written by Ish, a former member of Foxy. I don't think I ever heard that Phil Harding remix of 'point of no return', when was that one released?

    Here is a scan of the original release with the original girls vocals...

    As you mentioned, Ish produced Company B and he produced many others, Promise Circle and Apollonia 'Since I fell for you'.
    The Expose remix came out in 1988 on UK Arista 12".

    Phil Harding along with Ian Curnow mixed most of StockAitkenWaterman's early product. If they remixed anyone else's product they always emerged with a very SAW sound e.g.their remix of Supertramp's 'Im Begging You'. I noticed that after Phil & Ian stopped mixing SAW's stuff it took on a weedier sound, so maybe they were more respnsible for the SAW sound than SAW were! :-?

    I have "Point Of No Return" on a local Miami label before it was released on Arista. Interestingly, the group was originally called X-Posed, as evidenced by the record label.

    Does anyone remember "I Wanna Go Home With You" by the Miami Disco Band?

    The Miami disco music of the late 80s should be correctly called Freestyle Music. There was many groups of this style at the time that deserve credit for making great music.
