Is Hollywood running out of original ideas?

Last year we had a remake of "Starsky and Hutch" and "Stepford Wives"

This year they're re-doing "Amityville Horror" and "Dukes of Hazzard" and I read they are considering doing a movie version of "Dallas".

Where have all the creative ideas gone?

First, you have to have original ideas to be able to run out of them.

Hollywood will now look to suck the life out of the Asian shock/horror genre, as per the American remakes of RINGU, JU-ON and DEEP WATER. What's next? One can only imagine:

AUDITION (THE MUSICAL) starring Hillary Duff.

ICHI THE KILLER DUDE starring Ashton Kutchner.

THAT WACKY VISITOR Q GUY starring Topher Grace with Patricia Heaton as the mother.

DEAD OR ALIVE, YO starring Method Man and Ice Cube

GUINEA PIG: THE ANIMATED FEATURE...bring the whole family!

I think the Eva Longoria, Salma Hayek lesbian enema-amputee horror movie that I mentioned in a previous thread would be highly original.

Then you should write a script and peddle it to Hollywierd.

Hollywierd has spent so many years selling crap of the lowest common denominator to the widest non-discerning audience (who keep filling the theatres :-? ) they no longer need to be creative - nor pay for it.

But do not too desperate become for there's new hope in the horizon: the director who made SAW will be back, with a vengeance. While SAW was an extremely well made megamix of horror hits it wasn't really nothing new as such, we had all seen the tricks before, good as they were and truly jolting too, at least in the uncut version. Maybe now that he is given mor e means to fleshen out his twisted ideas the director will really show us something new and very frightening in the next one. Have faith, children!
