    Disco

I'm looking for a hot back-in-the-day Chicago warehouse tune.
I don't know the title or the artist but a heavenly sound of a female vocal carried the lyrics repeatedly thru the song , too hot for love.....toooo hotttt for looove. Bongos banged along with the baseline. Also it was a very long Song. I must have this tune too complete my disco mix.

That Canadian 12" single is very hard to find (I've been trying to get a copy for years). However, a 16-minute remix with additional vocals and instrumentation appears on the album Two Hot For Love, Butterfly FLY005. This is relatively easy to find.

Yeeeessssssssss somebody feels me!!! Much thanks for the knowledge guys. Maybe I'll go across the bridge to Windsor, Ontario and ask around. In the meantime I'll hunt down the remix version.

Let me know if you find it Graham.
Daps to you too LB Glasgow.

For now, I'll have to continue listening to my trusty TDK cassette of a 1:00am taped radio show from Chicago in 1981 on WGCI. Yeah! call me a slappy but I use to tape off the radio. :D

    Hello Super D,

you can also find a 6m44 version on the cd or Lp DISCO SPECTRUM 2 , BBE UK Release, this song is awesome,

never heard the 16 minutes Mr Start is talking about, but if this mix is as the short version i own, it must be pure bliss,

The original mix is (I presume) the one on the BBE comp. I have a Canadian 7" of this. The only vocals are "Two Hot For Love" repeated over and over.

The remix/album version has a long buildup, more instrumentation, and actual lyrics which are unfortunately screeched by a rather off-key singer. Still marvelous though! A different mix and edit of this appears on a Butterfly 7" single.

BTW, the album is a rare case where the Canadian pressing is significantly better than the US in terms of sonics. I have two US copies from different stampers, and they both sound quite muddy compared to the Canadian release.

Man! I'm glad I found this site :D...you guys are great! I think the version that is on my antiquated TDK cassette radio mixx-show tape is the version you are talking about....was that remix version out during the time of 1979-1982. Ru stated that there is a screeching vocal sound of a female(I think her voice is great Ru...it makes the song, along with that synth ride and bongo bang)sweeeeet! I saw a version of the remix 12'' on a site for
$35.00 U.S. dollars. Does that sound right?

    Thanx Graham and RU.
    Peace-out

    Re:Disco

The album version came out shortly after the original single, which was around 1977 IIRC.

The original 6-minute 12" is quite rare and would easily go for $35, however the 16-minute album version (which I gather is the one you're looking for) is *not rare at all*, so don't pay more than $10 unless it's still sealed. I've come across half a dozen copies in good shape for less than that.

Thanx for the reassurance Graham....I appreciate your expertise. :D Is there other geat tunes in the "warehouse catagory" you can think of? (warehouse is what Chi-towners and Mo-towners labeled the music because it came right out of the disco area and blended in well with early 80's Funk and House music ,plus it was usually played in old warehouse style buildings after hours)......let me know. :

    Thanx again for the n-fo
