hi all,
I couldnt have a better time for my 30th birthday : a Real Disco party with disco vibes all around ! Thanx to Jussi Kantonen to come spinning for my Disco party "Discolounge" and a parisian radio show listeners did appreciated.
i was afraid people would remain in their seat moving their shoulders and feet till the end... we re on a bar, not a nightclub. we put the sound louder, they start moving the tables and dancing under the golden mozaics of the roof. How can u imagin funk lovers, young people getting crazy on Amant "Hazy shades of love" among other uncommercial stuff ?? they werent drunk, they werent 40-50 something, disco is still alive, and we were there to shout it by the music.
thanx once more to Jussi with who i shared disco memory and vibrations, thanx to Bernie to have built this site gathering all disco actors, lovers, freaks of the world![]()

Nuff respect disco lady, next time in Paris will look your club up
DJ Boogie Badness :D :D
Aicha the Disco Lady, you made my dream of spinning disco in the greatest city of the world a reality - last Saturday was a night I'll always remember. There's nothing like bringing on "Make That Feeling Come Again!" and hearing people scream. And it was wonderful listening to you spin, you were so completely in tune with the original underground spirit of disco, with cool skilled mixing and impeccable style. No Bee Gees or "Celebration" by Kool & Gand from The Lady, but one fab track after another, each sounding totally fresh. As you wrote, the crowd agreed - wild gyrating everywhere, guys wearing West End label t-shirts, getting down with sweat flying, gorgeous looking girls hands in the air, smiling faces. And that lofty venue was so beautiful, all gilded ceilings, ornate chandeliers, staircases rising up, and vast windows giving to the Boulevard. Loved it.
And that Generations radio show was such a nice experience as well, it was amazing to walk into a studio with all the vibes of a great club - loud music throbbing thru a super sound system, people unable to sit down. I was a bit worried at first but when that funky Bronco Dj guy started dancing to "Enter The Dragon" I knew something was cooking all right. - All and all, the best weekend. J'ai deux amours, mon pays et Paris.
Real non mainstream parties? Not at this moment. Those vibes are played in select clubs however. But together with some friends we are planning something brand new which will fully concentrate on the old Disco and Funk Rare Grooves (non mainstream) and that will take place in 4 major Belgian cities. When all is conceived I will post the name and details in the Promotional Subforum. Too bad I'm not at the Foire Du Thrône in Paris at this moment since we choose the funfair of Courtrai this year, otherwise we could have met, but we'll try to come on one of your soirées :DOriginally Written by discolady75
