I really like 'em all but I'm leaning favoring Todd's cause I haven't heard his as much.
I was just wondering which artist do you prefer the most on the classic weekend track originally performed by phreek. Is it Phreek, Class Action or Todd Terry?

Find them and destroy them!
I prefer Phreek's (original is always best) & love the look of surprise on people's faces when I play it as they obviously know Todd Terry's version and think this is the original!
Phreek, but the album version. The 12" mix just doesn't do it for me.
I agree with Graham...Album cut of the original all the way
DJ Boogie Badness :D :D
Graham you peaked my curiosity and finally checked today, the version found in the Atlantic DMD 615 12" (6:51) *is* the Album version (6:49) with incredibly better Sonics, as far as I can tell the only difference is this 12" cuts off the first two measures (32 beats) found on the LP before the bass kicks in, that’s all, I don't think I ever heard the 8:12 minute version in the vault so I can't comment on that one.Originally Written by Graham_Start

I also like the Class Action version, the Larry Levan mix is the one I played....I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Todd Terry's version...
The 8:12 mix is remixed by Issy Sanchez and it's seriously weak IMO. Strings are pulled way back, vocal is too up-front... it sounds to me like the vocal is from a different take, or maybe it's because the backing vocals are gone throughout most of the mix. But it really lacks the power, the lushness, and everything that made the LP version so good in the first place. Most of all, it lacks flow -- the various sections are pieced together quite incoherently, and it just doesn't work.Originally Written by Mixmachine
I'm restoring this along with the album, which I hope to finish soon... let me know if you're interested...
For me, it's definetly the Levan mix from class action's weekend version!!! It sounds so fat!!! and the beat is all tight, it sounds so fresh, even today!!! And it always works, even on electro-clash parties...so you wanna buy it? :D
The Phreek version is a bit too "loose" IMO...
Todd Terry's version is nice, but a little bit sad, too deep for many, not so much "partytime" like class action...
But I wonder, if Leroy Burgess is the original writer of the song, didn't know he was part of phreek...
