    Unclassics - Obscure Electronic Funk & Disco 1978 - 1985

Having recently discovered this site and the vast information on offer, I thought I'd share this gem with you as I couldn't see any reference to it... forgive me if it's been mentioned already.

    Has anyone else heard/bought 'Unclassics - Obscure Electronic Funk & Disco 1978 - 1985' 2004 Environ records?

It's been put together by Morgan Geist (he of Metro Area fame) and contains a vast array of tunes, some great, some just too cheesy for their own good!

Two of the best (in a my humble) are:
Discotheque - Disco Special (Tara Productions 1979)
Eurofunk - Manshortage (ELI-173 Edit) (LNE Music 1983)

Anyone else know these tracks? If so, recommend some similar please!

"Let's Do It 'Till We Both Go Blind"

I got this CD as Margeretta (even did my own re-edit for summer parties a couple of years ago) and the b-side of Intro Disco have been guilty pleasures for a long time now. I love it - and it turns out I had some of the others on vinyl too! long forgotten and filed away. I kinda thought the edits may have been done to make them more palletable for todays audiences but the full 11 mins. of the Man Shortage 12" is incredible (by 9 mins. a fat man is desirible!) Secret Agent Man is inspired and Victor's Go On and Do It is mucky Italo gay rap of my favorite kind (makin no sense and changin tense on the chorus) my 12" is in the post now! Hurrah!
P.S. Discofresh, if you want an intro to Italo start here... not sure what they'll make of it in Yorkshire though!

you're right, the general Yorkshire market I don't imagine will be that keen, however, even with a fairly high cheese factor, Manshortage is pure quality... and they've released a 12" with that and 'Discotheque - Disco Special' (the next best on the CD)... and the crazy Russian 'Zodiac - Pacific' for a bonus third track!
