"The Greatest Performance Of my Life" - Miss Loleatta Holloway. The demented... "I laughed Pagliacci..ha-ha-ha-ha-ha" or something like that. I swear Jennifer Holiday copied Miss Loleatta's laugh in "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going."![]()
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."

Right at the end of 'Hit & Run' by Lolleata Holloway, a guy says 'now shall we do the LP version' & laughs.
Oh so now ya know "Hit & Run"!!!! When I was asking you for the song that Boystown Gang ripped the bassline hook off from--you named every Loleatta song but "H&R"!!! :P  :POriginally Written by SandraDee
I played Hit & Run that night & couldn't spot the similar bassline 'cos I was playing just a bit of it & it was the wrong bit (dizzy queen) When i played it all the way through the next day the similar bassline was scraming at me! Anyhow, you did me a favour 'cos I haven't played my loleatta stuff for ages. :P
Aw...it's all good!!! "Hands across the water/ hands across the sky"!!!! :D :D :D Kumbaya my lord!!!![]()
We all keep each other on our toes. So very often I have records that are discussed here--but I haven't played them enough to know the answers to questions. But the question leads me to play the damn record and then I have a little more knowledge next time.![]()
 A little red right now, I have JUST heard "Hit & Run" for the very 1st time this past Saturday on the Satellite radio. I stopped what i was doing to find out who was singing this awesome jam. I ran for a pen and paper and have looked through all my Cd's to see if I had it. Guess I'll be making a purchase soon!! :)
Josh Wink - Don't laugh (1996)

'I'll always love my mama' by The Intruders has some cheerful conversation
especially the spoken part in the long version
'go away little boy' by Marlena Shaw has some giggles too...
all*that*glitters*
the intro to 'juicy fruit (disco freak)' by Isaac Hayes
Hayes must have been listening to 'love in C minor' by Cerrone as the party-atmoshpere and dirty jokes of both tracks are quite similar

Seems no one's mentioned, one of the most recognizable laughs on vinyl, found in......
