One more time. I guess my log in timed out.

In the interest of keeping the younguns informed, and what the hell I haven't started a topic in a while, I thought this might be good.
While some of us still have memories of clubbing back in da day I figured it would be nice to share it. It will also be interesting to see how it compares or contrasts with today's scene.
If you were with me or saw me back then, i often wore my brown leather jacket. Typically sporting a loose cotton tie and my signature cuff slacks. Early on, I often went with a crew. Sometimes with just girls, though more often it was mixed. By the time we got to our disco of choice we were more than likely high on something  By the way, we hated lines so if it looked like the line had a half hour wait, we'd move on to the next club.
Once inside I would dance with my girlfriend if she was part of the group or make new ones in the disco if we weren't together. As a sidenote, depending on region, the music emphasis was different. In Boston and Hartford, the music seemed funkier than in NYC. New York on the other hand generally had the best mixes.
Now in Boston, unless you went to an after hours club, most of the discos closed at 2pm sharp. Roughly an hour before closing we'd be sizing up which person we were gonna spend the night with. As for what happened from there well, that goes beyond the scope of this forum...I think
    Find them and destroy them!

2 AM sharp, last call was 1:40 AM and you were thrown out at 2. Still that way. Today people (in Worcester) bitch about the $5 cover :o Can you believe this - cover charges HAVEN'T increased in 30 years and "club goers" in Worcester bitch about paying 5 bucks to hear a DJ! I **** you not! Anyway my hometown has gone right down the shitter.

Back on topic, I always tried to hook up by 11:00-11:30. If she was a dud, excessively skanky or a cokehead (women were such sluts back then :D ) I had time to move on... Some places I would take a date to and I actually had the most fun with 2 women I was dating at the time.

Some of the guys I hung with would get real pissed if others of the crew would pick up something strange for the night (some of us were KOOL, some not too hot). Great days! But by '78 I was partyed out, drugged out and fucked out so I sold out.

Hey Discoman. Thanks for fixing the closing time. 2AM not 2pm.
Anyway, 5 bucks is great. I think that's what I paid back in the day for KIX and Cache on a Saturday night!
When you say suck sluts, are yuo referring to blow jobs
I hear what your saying about having more babes with ya. It's like having money. The more you have the more seems to come your way :D
I guess you started a little earlier than I did. I think I was hitting my peak in '78.

What I meant was that if you were looking for a woman of low moral character you didn't have any trouble in finding one expecially if you were a man of low moral character

Certainly, if you went to the same club/s on a regular basis and developed a reputation among the ladies for having certain in demand skills you were sought out and rarely went home alone. 8)

I started in '71 and hit my peak from '74 to '76. By '77 I was well done.
