    Technics SL-J90

Any ideas on input problems from a OLD Technics SL-J90 connected to a Bose Lifestyle 12 amp & Mac running system 10 & CD spin doctor. Audio input is too low from either phono plugs to audio input jack or headphone socket to input jack. Is it the turntable?

You need to connect the turntable to a receiver or preamp with a phono input first and then the output of that to your Mac to achieve the proper level and EQ. Do not connect to a tape in or aux input. You can also buy a cheap phono preamp or try Finyl Vinyl, which comes with a software based RIAA curve.
