Which song from 1998 onwards has used a disco sample best.
Many dance now use a disco sample but some don't use the best bits or don't use the right sample. Which song has done the job in your opinion.
My 2 are;
Soulsearcher 'Can't get enough'.
Uses Garys Gang 'Let's lovedance tonite' and keeps up that good disco feeling!
Freemasons 'Love on my mind'
A newie, and uses one of my fav tracks 'This time baby' by Jackie Moore. Again keeps up the spirit of disco!!
The first moment I heard Bob Sinclar's "I feel for you" based on Cerrone's "Look for love", I was hooked. And I also liked Paul Johnsons' "Get down" which was based on Bohannon's "Me and the gang". That was then but now???
I hear a lot of new stuff coming out where they use a sample of a vintage Disco song but only loop it and are not creative with it and that's a little bit sad.
Absolutely love this track. When I received this double pak single a few years back I was like wow! If all of today's music could be as good as this... Will have to play this again tonight.Originally Written by Davicillo

MOODYMANN - SHADES OF JAE (BOB JAMES-SPUNKY)
DAFT PUNK - AROUND THE WORLD (JERRY GOLDSMITH - THE REC ROOM)
I like most of Bob Sinclair's stuff, it's so incredibly different from most of what's out there.
I tremendously enjoyed the "Casino" album by Alcazar. Disco samples and riffs abound in this one: Sheila & B. Devotion's "Spacer", SOS Band's "Take Your Time", Change's "A Lover's Holiday".
Their new album (which I haven't heard yet) promises more of the same...the last track I heard was "This Is The World We Live In" and it heavily samples Diana Ross' "Upside Down".
GROOVEJET - DJ SPILLER (samples Carol Williams/Salsoul)
IS IT REALLY YOU? - TRUST & FLETCH (samples "Have a nice day" by King Errison)
GREEN E.P. - FULL INTENTION (Samples "Chase" -Giorgio Moroder)
......... and my favorite TRANCE/TECH HOUSE CLASSIC......
OVER THE HILL - TIM TAYLOR & THOR 54 (samples "The Hills of Katmandu" by Tantra AND "The Break" by Katmandu). AWESOME!! TRACK!!!! :D
Just when you thought it was all over - no, no, no
I'll have to say the only "sample" I ever thought was used right and didnt give me headache or make me wanna go blow up the maker's house in these house tracks was the Bob Sinclar one mentioned. Not only did he not ruin the Cerrone track but, Cerrone approved of it and even used it on his recent tour.
