    Best Disco Sleeve?

I just love all the disco sleeves from West End, & Salsoul logo to the cheesy "Singing in the rain" jacket. I guess my faves include Calibre, Sony/columbia (Lips), What are your faves?

    1. Motor Booty Affair – Parliament
The original with the cut – out cardboard figures is great.

    2. The spirit of the boogie – Kool and the gang

Thanks guys all those are brilliant covers.. across between retro cool and 70's chic. Like a collection of all my fave mags and films captured on a vinyl sleeve..Todays sleeves in my opinion lack a certain character and visual literacy.

I second the vote for Ohio Players...several of their LP covers were great as were the 3 Love and Kisses covers. Best ever LP cover though had to be from a Bonnie Pointer album from the early 1980's featuring a model in a very high cut red one piece.. :o :o :o

The Best of The Fatback Band cover from 1979, has a close up of a woman's naked groin, with only her hand covering her modesty. :-?

I've always liked the cover for the Hi-Gloss LP: sexy without being tacky.

And I've always wondered about the back of the Peter Jacques band's "Fire Night Dance" LP...how did they get that glass to break so close to the model's face? It sure doesn't look like digital photography!

You have to be careful with Cerrone. The US pressing has a very boring cover, the UK pressing is much more interesting.... :D :D

and so the winner is: Lightning, Casablanca Records! Two killer babes on roller skates, rayguns, wild shades of yellow and purple, gleaming flesh.

All classic covers. I've a question one of you cover connoisseurs will hopefully be able to shed some light on: i noticed the Jupiter Sunset Band 'Disco Rhapsody' has the same cover image as Silk 'Smooth As Silk' from 1976 on RCA or at least the Undisc cd reissue ?

It would be a hard pick to choose my favourite disco era covers but much easier to tell you my choice for worst: Patrick Juvet's 'Got A Feeling' - truly awful !! At least they more than compensated for it on the wonderful 'Lady Night' follow up LP !
