I was browsing my records tonight and listened after a long time to 2 great obscurities:
VERA: Take me to the bridge on the canadian RIO label from 1980 and OTIS WILLIAMS: I love the way you love me on the Sound of New York label from 1982
I've been listening to these two for all the time tonight
Anyone familiar with them?
hey giovanni ive been playing otis too!! 8)
Yes I've got that Vera 'bridge' track on a CD compilation & I always think it sounds a bit like Gino Soccio's 'Dance To Dance' to these ears. I think it's the basslines that are similar.
I LOVE "Take Me To The Bridge"--a TROC CLASSIC!!! :D :D :D
Keefe told me that Robbie Leslie played this at the 2nd Troc Reunion Party!!!
Wonderful uptempo sleaze!!!!!!!!!!! Moody & dreamy and strangely, FAAAAAAAST.
Don't know the other one. :-?
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
They're both Canadian productions so I wouldn't doubt there is a connection or shared musicians.Originally Written by SandraDee

I should have that Otis Williams song but, again, not on the shelf where it's supposed to be. :x
Yup, Robbie did! I recall Jeff and I were out on the dance floor during Amanda Lear's "Follow Me" (How that happen, I do not know. I thought he HATES that song!) and I was shocked when "Take Me To The Bridge" came next. Mixed beautifully into Cut Glass "Without Your Love"!Originally Written by markydefad
Speaking of Troc reunions, you might want to get yourself to San Francisco on Sunday, April 24th!!!
