JUSSIK i think a while back you reccomended the brazillian film city of god,i took up your reccomendation and got a copy and enjoyed,the other day in the video shop i saw they had made a t.v series of it 'city of men' i asked a brazilian friend about it [hes from salvador and you cant really mention rio to him!!] he said nah read the book, have you seen????? or indeed any brazillian members,they only had one copy if i leave it too long it will be gone

"City of Men" hasn't been bought by any stations in my neck of the woods - Brazilian tv shows are rarely shown here. There was a series of soaps that gained a cult following for the volume of the hairdos and shoulderpads but apart from campy stuff like that, regrettably nothing. Brazilian films are another matter, the more classy channels do occasionally present Babenco stuff and other titles. I for one am all for more world cinema!

JUSSIK thanks,i was trying to say its out on d.v.d with a similar cover to city of god,we do have portuguese t.v here as we have a large portuguese population and i dont recall it being shown as we do get all the novellas,thanks anyway i just thought you may have picked it up on d.v.d, ill just grab it then,its 9 episodes over two series so its a lot of film ,it claims it got a 35 million audience in brazil when shown on t.v,somehow i dont think theres gonna be a lot of shoulder pads in this one :lol:
