26th, february, saturday, I've been to a disco... Doesn't it sound like I was in the 70's?...
... We have a night club in Rio which plays all those classics which no one can stand anymore. But around 3AM they also play a little less obvious music. But this time they really played something obscure: it was a song by a group called HIGH FASHION.
Since I didn't know the song (and loved it) I could not leave the disco without asking the name of it to the DJ. He mentioned the group HIGH FASHION, but I couldn't get the name of the song, because of the noise. I didn't insist because I was a bit drunk and didn't want to become a problem to anyone there.
It was definitely 80's stuff. Does anyone have any info about this "group"? Albums? "Famous" songs? etc...
Paulo, do you mean High Fashion and "Feeling lucky lately"?

hold on? feelin lucky lately? breakup?
High Fashion featured 2 gals & 1 guy on vocals. The 2 gals went on to have successful solo careers in the 80s - Alyson Williams & Meli'sa Morgan. Their '82 LP has recently become available on CD & it's brilliant, especially the slowey 'I Want To Be Everything'.
Ahhh Yet another quality project from the creative mind of Jaques Fred Petrus!
Essential stuff!
If my memory serves me right Peggi Blue sang with High Fashion. As for "Feeling lucky Lately" it has my all time favourite intro to a record.. :D :D

This is indeed a great song. It reminds me of Kashif's "Love Changes", featuring.....Meli'sa Morgan. Now there's a connection.Originally Written by SandraDee
Thank you guys and girls who replied.
In the early 80's, when 70's disco was over , the subsequent disco sound never made it to clubs over here (hi-nrg or whatever).
Night-clubs here began to play a type of brazilian music called (at that time) GAFIEIRA... a type of slower "samba".
They also played recent 70's disco classics and "avant-garde" techno-pop and new wave (Soft Cell, Thomas Dolby, Human League, Duran Duran).
So what's early 80's classics to you, it remains a mystery to me.
Reading the names of the songs you wrote, it was FEELING LUCKYLY LATE the one I heard that night.
I've ordered the CD. I am expecting to receive it in 2 months.
As soon as I receive it I'll comment on it. What you people think of it??
