    American Idol

is anybody watching American Idol this season... I finally tuned in for the 1st time this season. I didn't think i'd like it because I thought it would be a bunch of Hip-Hop bull***.

it's not! some interesting singers... who do you like? who will win? your thoughts.

Of course we can not see it over here but we just had Idol 2004 which elected an absolute non-talent, Youri, who surely will sell thousands of his first single and then will be forgotten real soon just like our Idol 2003 who's name was...Mmmmmh

I'm not too crazy about the two rocker guys Constantine and Bo, but it seems the judges (including Simon) love them.

Sometimes I get the impression if the show wants to push a particular type of artist (e.g. rocker, country, etc) then they give them favorable reviews to persuade the public to vote in that direction.

What about that Mikaila girl? She reminds me of a cross between Barbra Streisand and Fran Drescher.

We get it here in the UK! Three episodes that I think are broadcast Mon, Tues, Wed in the US all at the same time tonight on ITV2! Absolutely compulsive viewing - I really like the girl who sounds looks like a young Aretha and the other girl with the afro. Also the country singing girl will go far in the competition.

My missus likes Constantine, personally I prefer Bo!

I have this gut feeling that BO BICE will make it to the top 3 ... or even win it.. After Monday's performance... he's gotta be up there. Constantine has to go...

Obviously I can't comment on the US or UK versions of the show. All I know is that the talent mass for the danish version of the show (which has been on for two seasons so far) is practically non-existent.
Both winners are yet to release any stuff which strikes me as being very odd, since they're handed a deal directly.
Strangely, runner ups are doing a lot better

For the guys Travis and Constantine.

Most of the girls were pretty unremarkable this week, and Nadia was so superior to the rest of them I wouldn't have been surprised if they just declared her the winner last night.

Janay should have been booted two weeks ago, so this had better be her last appearance. And Mikalah's "Somewhere" sounded like a funeral dirge. (Interesting that "Somewhere" apparently is now considered "a Streisand song"!) Buh-bye, girls.

As for the guys, Travis' performance was embarrassing (he's really cute though!), and although Constantine wasn't great this week, I'd rather he stick around than Shrek... I mean, Scott Savol.

I hate to say this Jeff... but, I was rooting for Mikalah the last couple of weeks... One reason... she sang a CANDI STATON song.. !!! kinda butchered it however, had a better showing the following week. Last night... oh well. In a couple of years and a voice coach... she could make another run at it.

Travis' performance with the human beat box was embarrasing.. and Scott has a decent singing voice but has absolutely no stage excitement at all.

I say goodbye to JANAY for sure... and does it matter at this point?

    for the guys

TRAVIS for sure... and either SCOTT or CONSTANTINE..

I'm glad Janay and Travis got the boot.

Amanda and Nikko I would have kept on.

Well, I'll admit that I voted for Amanda two (?) weeks ago only because she had the nerve to attempt "Turn the Beat Around," so I understand what you mean. And I do think Mikalah is... entertaining, but right now her talent resembles Fran Drescher's more than Barbra Streisand's!

No real shockers among the girls who got booted this week, but I was a little surprised that Niko lost out to Scott. But Scott can't coast on that whole "I can't believe that voice comes out of that person" deal for too much longer.

Scott could do well during this round.... Nikko didn't lose out because he didn't have a good voice... The Scott fans must have voted 100,000 times just to keep in him... And others thought that Nikko would make it in with no problem. This is a fun and entertaining show... I can't believe this is my first time watching it.

Mikalah will do wonders if she stays away from any attempt at Barbara Streisand songs again... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! (no pun intended).

Maybe they'll have disco night this week! :D Maybe she should try CANDI STATON again...

    nrg,

I would have to agree.... however, almost all of them sounded awful. Lindsay's rendition of Knock On Wood was not the Eddie Floyd version.... It was a bad Karaoke version of Ami Stewart. my my my! yuk!

Vonzel did the best I think.

Vonzell is the most complete star package... including great voice .... Anwar 's good too.... but maybe a makeover ...Scott most impressed me... Lindsey should go 1st ..and Anthony as well... btw ...his "Breaking Up...." was the slow re-do Neil Sedaka did in the mid seventies ... not the upbeat original of the sixties ... which was supposed to be the night's theme ..just like "knock On Wood" performed as disco..... It is amazing ten years of music that included the Beatles, Phil Spector, Otis Redding, Dionne Warwick, Roy Orbison, Herman's Hermits .... to choose from .... and that's what they come up with .................................................. ............................................... I wonder what Mario would've performed ...........

The latest on Mario Vasquez is that he hired Clay Aiken's lawyer.

Clay apparently hired a lawyer a while back so he could break his contract with the management company that runs American Idol.

I can see this turning out to be a problem. The show definitely gives these contestants exposure to the public thus getting a possible recording contract.

I think either Mikaila or Anwar should go tonight.

I was a bit disappointed in Nadia's performance last night and that hair...
