I don't think "Chase" a direct rip-off as such of "Love In C Minor" - it's certainly influenced by it in it's concept of predatory females and the style of it's orchestration but the melodies don't resemble each other at all. Chase is more like another good addition to the genre in question, which is... what, 70's soft core bondage&domination orchestral sci-fi disco fantasy? - Check out "Answer Me My Love" from MBT's second album, now that's a beauty.

These people have 2 LPs? That 2nd one must be hard to find. Gotta keep a look out for that. As for the song in question, it was defenatly built off "love in c minor", listen to the bassline and pattern...they are different..but ever so slightly. And even the main chorus..its saying "servants of love" instead of "love me"...see the connection there as well? but yes, not a direct rip off..but id say it was verrrrryyy close

Hmmm...well, you're right actually, the (b)asslines of "Chase" do resemble those of the Cerrone track. But genre-conscious copying, if you do it very well, can be more than just ripping off, the act can also be seen as paying hommage and elaborating on a theme. Which I'm positive was what was on the MBT Soul guys mind when they rushed out the very enjoyably pompous "Chase"... 8)

Jimmy , don't pay to much for MBT’s second LP, this was major cheese back then and worse today, just now writing this can’t hardly wait to take it off my TT. Weak soul less girly vocals over some of the most boring derivative (Classics) repetitive euro disco instrumental ever, including annoying brass section, guaranteed to clear any DJs floor...well, on this side of the pond anyways.

“The Chase” was definitely an attempt to capitalize on “Love in the C minor's” success, I got this copy on September 77 (French/Polydor) while Cerrone’s was still playing, perfect example of what happened to club music in the late 70’s with all the copy cats at work…..Mixmachine

Now I love eurodisco but...by what ya said there I will def avoid this 2nd LP. The first LP I didnt care for other than the "C Minor" close rip off..and only reason I like that is cause it resembles "C Minor" Also, why you logged on as a guest? LOL
