Michael Garrett, a disc jockey from the era and current owner of the CD Record Rack, a Castro district dance music store, remembers a performance from artist Frank Loverde:
“Loverde had a hit record in ‘82 with ‘Die Hard Lover.’ There was a show at one of the clubs downtown where Loverde was supposed to perform. He came out on stage and saw all the men in the audience, and he fainted. They had to carry him off, and I don’t think his career ever recovered.”

I remember Loverde's "Love Take Me High" on Megatone, a superb song. Sadly, just a few months later, Megatone started releasing junk on a grand scale.
Sadly, the DJ Michael Garrett recently passed away. As did the owner of Trocadero, Dick Collier.

Hello all,
I live in Rio de Janeiro BRAZIL. Loverde's DIE HARD LOVER is one of my all time favourites. Here in Rio a Radio Station called MUNDIAL used to play this track at you daily RITMOS DE BOITE Radioshow aside other tracks like Herp Albert's BEYOND (from 00:00 to 01:00) circa 1983. It was fantastic hear its synths and its Tango Style late at night. I can imagine it in laces like TROCADERO TRANSFER.
