I, like many of us, saw this commercial about Wi-fi laptops,
I think the song was: Tom Petty - Free fallin'
The commercial where the puppet is asking to see the new wireless laptop computer..The song has the lyrics of "I'm free, I'm free, no more puppet on string..." I think it's a 60's or 70's rock song...any ideas?

If you buy this record your life, will be better.

The Best Buy commercial changed the lyrics, but the melody is from the song "The Rain, The Park, And Other Things", from 1967. It was originally done by a family pop-music group called The Cowsills.
The Cowsills were the real-life inspiration for the "The Partridge Family" TV show.
Hope this helps you! :D
This is hilarious--to me anyway.
Cause I was just gonna write that if it was a sample it musta been from the Cowsills!!!!!!!!!! I swear!!!! :D :D :D
But I was gonna say I didn't remember any "I'm free/ I"m free/just like a puppet on a string...." song. :-?
But --'The Rain, The Park & Other things" is definitely embedded in the brain.![]()
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
Hmmm...did some research and found this at Adtunes.com:
"It's not the Cowsills song. It was written by Minneapolis musician Tom Lescher and performed with his group Echo Boys, who do a lot of music for commercials. (Thanks to Jim Bessman at Billboard Magazine -"Words & Music" June 26th issue - for that info.)"
The vocal does sound like The Cowsills, however.![]()
