I couldn't understand what anyone was saying, the choice of music lacked imagination & was chronologically challenged & the disco scenes took place in a nightclub that had the ambience of a pensioner's lounge. I was totally disappointed with this film but who am I to say whether it was good or bad? I'll leave that to the film experts.......

I did a post on this awhile ago, and yes it is a very bad movie. Even for a disco enthusiast. The music is all cut on top of each other, like the director didn't have a clue what was going on during that era. Even 54 was better. Sadly, Saturday Night Fever is still the only movie I know of that captures the mood, but that's mainly because it was made in 1977, when all this was happening.

The only films from recent years that IMO successfully deal with the NY 'disco days' are 'Summer Of Sam' & 'Carlito's Way'. Unfortunatley neither were actually about discos, they just used lots of disco music as a soundtrack. It's a shame that 'Thank God its Friday' was such a no-brainer 'cos it could've been so good with a decent script.
